Shipping, Refund & Return Policy 

Practical Emergency Kits

 

At Practical Emergency Kits, we make it a goal to never leave a customer dissatisfied. We work hard to make sure that every order is correct and sent out in a timely manner.  Please note, our Shipping, Refund & Return Policy is separated into two different sections: 

Section 1 Mountain House Emergency Food Kits. 

Section 2 Emergency Kits   

1. MOUNTAIN HOUSE EMERGENCY FOOD KITS

a. Products:

i) Freeze Dried Food – 2 Day Emergency Food Kit

ii) Emergency Food – 3 Day Emergency Food Kit

iii) Emergency Food Supply – 4 Day Emergency Food Kit

iv) Emergency Food Storage – 5 Day Emergency Food Kit

v) Mountain House Freeze Dried Food – 14 Day Emergency Food Kit.

b. SHIPPING – Mountain House

i) We ONLY ship Mountain House Emergency Kits within the United States, (including Alaska & Hawaii). We do not ship our Mountain House Emergency Kits to Canada.  Please see section 2 regarding international shipping for our other emergency kit products.

ii) All Mountain House Emergency Food Kit orders will ship via FedEx Ground within 5 business days of receiving your order.

iii) FREE shipping promotion applies to all orders within the Contiguous United States (does not include Hawaii or Alaska). Shipments to Hawaii and Alaska require additional shipping charges.

iv) Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, unless otherwise stated.

c. RETURN POLICY  - Mountain House

i) We DO NOT accept returns on food items unless it is defective or damaged.

ii) Ground Shipments returned or refused will be charged a 20% restocking fee for the merchandise total, less shipping fees. 

iii) To be eligible for a refund, merchandise must be unopened and in the original packaging. Please email our customer service team at support@practicalemergencykits.com to report the issue.  Your case will be reviewed and we will respond to you with a Return Authorization Number if your return is approved. 

iv) Customer is responsible for returning merchandise and the Return Authorization Number must be referenced on the return paperwork or return shipping label.

v) Shipping and/or handling fees for the original order are non-refundable.

d. LOST SHIPMENTS, DISCREPANCIES OR DAMAGED GOODS – Mountain House

i) Please email customer service at support@practicalemergencykits.com to report lost shipments, discrepancies or damaged goods.

ii) If your shipment is damaged or incorrect upon receipt, you must contact us within 2 business days or your receipt.  Save all contents and packaging materials.  Pictures may be requested so that we can contact the appropriate party responsible for any damages.  If your shipment arrives damaged, please notify the driver immediately so that the issue can be noted on the delivery paperwork.

iii) Shipments that are damaged upon arrival will only be replaced or refunded after the merchandise has been returned to the distribution center.  We will arrange to have damaged merchandise returned.

iv) Shipments that have been determined lost, only after thoroughly researching delivery information through the carrier, will be replaced.

2. EMERGENCY KITS

a. Products:

* Survival Backpack - 1 Person 3 Day Camo Bag

* 72 Hour Emergency Kit - 2 Person 3 Day Drybag

* Emergency Preparedness Kit - 2 Person 3 Day Camo Bag

* Car Emergency Kit - 1 Person

* Roadside Emergency Kit - 4 Person Family Road Kit

b. SHIPPING

i) FREE shipping promotion applies to all orders within the Contiguous United States (does not include Hawaii, Alaska or Canada). Shipments to Hawaii, Alaska and Canada will require additional shipping charges.

ii) All Emergency Kit orders will ship via UPS Ground within 5 business days of receiving your order.

iii) We ship to the U.S and Canada only. Canadian shipments will require additional shipping charges.  Unfortunately, due to import laws we cannot ship our Mountain House Emergency Food Kits to Canada.

iv) Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, unless otherwise stated.

c. RETURN POLICY

i) Returns are accepted within 30 days from the time the order is placed as long as the products are returned in the same re-sellable condition deemed by us. All shortages must be reported within 30 days as well.

ii)  If the item(s) is defective, Practical Emergency Kits will replace the item and pay for the return shipping. ONLY the item will be replaced; not the entire emergency kit.

iii) Food and water products CANNOT be returned to be re-sold according to law, therefore refunds for food and water products cannot be issued.

iv) Practical Emergency Kits will NOT accept any returns for any shipments outside the contiguous United States. That includes Alaska, Hawaii & Canada.

d. LOST SHIPMENTS, DISCREPANCIES OR DAMAGED GOODS

i) Shipments that have been determined lost, only after thoroughly researching delivery information through the carrier (UPS), will be replaced.

ii) Should you notice or have any discrepancy in your billing/invoicing you have 30 days to report it to Practical Emergency Kits.

iii) If the merchandise purchased was defective in anyway, you will have will have 30 days to notify Practical Emergency Kits of the defective merchandise. If we are notified within 30 days’ a replacement product will be shipped out at no additional cost. Please note that we will replace only defective item(s) included in the kit, not the entire emergency kit.

iv) If an item is damaged by UPS during the shipment, it is the customer’s responsibility to contact UPS directly.

v) If an order is placed in error, the product total will be refunded once the products have been returned but the shipping charge as well as the return shipping cost will not be refunded.

vi) On orders returned for any reason other than defective merchandise the shipping charges will not be refunded and there will be a restocking fee of up to 20% of the original charge of the order.

CANCELING OR REVISING YOUR ORDER

 Orders are processed fairly quickly and we cannot guarantee that your order can be revised or canceled after you have placed it. Please contact us immediately at support@practicalemergencykits.com to report the issue and to check the status of your order. 

In the instance that your order has not been processed, canceling or revising your order will not be a problem. After your order is processed in our system and the distribution center has begun staging, revisions and cancelations cannot be made.

Any order placed on a credit/debit card that is canceled before it ships out will have a 3.5% cancellation fee deducted from the refund.  If the order has shipped before we were able to cancel it, then the return policy mentioned below will be applied.

AMENDMENTS TO THIS POLICY

We reserve the right to update, amend and/or change this Shipping, Refund & Return Policy at any time in our sole discretion and without notice. Updates to this Policy will be posted here. Amendments will take effect immediately upon us posting the updated Policy on our Services.  You are encouraged to revisit this Policy from time to time in order to review any changes that have been made. The date on which this Policy was last updated will be noted immediately below this Policy.  Your continued access and use of our Services following the posting of any such changes shall automatically be deemed your acceptance of all changes.
